Wings set to depart for training camp

DETROIT -- The Red Wings begin preparations for the 2009-10 season this Friday, Sept. 11, at 8 a.m. when the team departs for training camp from Joe Louis Arena.
Upon their arrival in scenic Traverse City, Mich., the entire Detroit team will hold a charity golf outing and dinner at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Ticket order forms for both the camp and the golf outing are available at RedWingsTrainingCamp.com.
On-ice workouts run from Sunday, Sept. 13 through Tuesday, Sept 15. Players will be divided into three teams named ABEL, DELVECCHIO and SAWCHUK, with the first group taking the ice at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday and 3:10 p.m. Monday. Tuesday’s schedule includes a 3 p.m. practice followed by a Gold Medal game at 6 p.m. The Red Wings will depart for Detroit immediately following the game.
THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN: Season ticket packages, “Steve Yzerman 19-Game Packages”, “Gordie Howe 9-Game Packages” and single-game tickets for the entire 2009-10 season are currently available at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, all TicketMaster locations including The Hockeytown Café, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
