DETROIT – The NHL has recognized Henrik Zetterberg for his recent three-game, nine-point performance by naming the Red Wings’ forward the ‘First Star’ of the week ending Nov. 15.

Zetterberg has been the Red Wings’ hottest performer this month, collecting 11 points in the last six games, helping Detroit to a 5-1-0 record, which has them back near the top of the Central Division standings.

In the Wings' last game, Zetterberg collected his fourth career hat trick, scoring all three goals in the third period of a 7-4 victory over Anaheim on Saturday at Joe Louis Arena. He also added a pair of assists, giving him his first five-point effort in his seven-year NHL career.

This season, Zetterberg has a league-best four game-winning goals, including the last two games against the Ducks (Nov. 14) and Vancouver (Nov.12). He had five all of last season.

During the week, Zetterberg had four goals and five assists, helping jump-start the Red Wings’ offense. His two-point effort in the Wings’ 3-1 win over the Canucks was Zetterberg’s 100th career multi-point game of his career.

The ‘First Star’ recognition is the fourth time that Zetterberg has been recognized by the league with one of its ‘Three Stars’ of the Week Award. Zetterberg was last honored with the ‘Third Star’ for a seven-point week on Oct. 15, 2007. That same season, he was named ‘First Star’ in consecutive weeks in Feb. 2007.
