Coffee, donuts and Wing Nuts
Wings score hat trick with Tim Hortons partnership
“The Detroit Red Wings are one of the premier sports organizations in North America and we’re very excited to pair our world class product with theirs,” said David Clanachan, chief operations officer, U.S. and International, Tim Hortons Inc. “In Michigan, we now cover the spectrum of hockey – from this partnership, all the way down to the more than 4,000 kids in Michigan learning to play hockey through Timbits youth hockey programs.”
The Red Wings will incorporate nine points of sale on the Joe Louis concourse, conveniently located so fans can grab their favorite coffee and baked goods without missing any of the on-ice action. As the first arena to feature Tim Hortons baked goods, Joe Louis will also be the first arena with two Tim Hortons branded kiosk showcases. Mmm, donuts.
Detroit Red Wings vice president business affairs Steve Violetta comments, "This expanded relationship with Tim Horton's touches on several business priorities for the Red Wings. Among them are providing a superior fan experience at each and every home game, as well as expanding our marketing efforts within the Windsor-Sarnia-London triangle and the continued partnership of two of the most dominant brands in their respective industries".
Fans attending the Red Wings home games February 11 and 13 can be on the lookout for the Tim Hortons “Donut” delivery promotion. For those fans who can’t make the game, the Valentine’s Day themed, “I Love the Red Wings Donut” will be available at more than 90 stores across Metro Detroit February 12 – 14. All proceeds from these purchases will be donated to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation, which supports and enhances community life in Michigan.
The Detroit Red Wings Foundation is an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, a 501 (c)(3) organization. The Foundation invests in the future of our community by providing funds and resources to worthy causes that contribute to the growth of the sport of hockey.
