By The Numbers highlights  the Detroit Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2009-10 season. Each week, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on forward Jason Williams.

Career game played in March 1, 2010 against the Colorado Avalanche. Williams had one shot on goal in Detroit’s first game back from the Olympic break. The Wings posted a 3-2 win at the Pepsi Center.


The number of games missed after he broken his right leg on November 7, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Williams scored a power-play goal in his return (January 29, 2010) in the Wings’ 4-2 victory over Nashville.

Number of multi-point games recorded with a goal and an assist on October 27, 2009 against the Vancouver Canucks. His lone multi-point outing of the season – including the game-winner – helped the Red Wings to a 5-4 win at GM Place.

His lone consecutive point streak of the season occurred in the first five games of the season – between Oct. 3-13, 2009. The Red Wings were 2-2-0 during the streak, which Williams compiled a goal and three assists with a minus-3 rating.

The number of plus-rating games that he registered during the 2009-10 season. Williams had 11 minus-rating games. For the season, he had an accumulative plus-2 rating against two teams – Edmonton and Vancouver.

Percentage of successful shootout attempts during the 2009-10 season. Williams scored three goals on nine attempts. Only Pavel Datsyuk (seven) and Todd Bertuzzi (four) scored more shootout goals during the season.
