DETROIT -- The Red Wings will open the 2010-11 NHL season at home against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, October 8.
This will be the sixth time in seven years that the Wings will open a season at Joe Louis Arena, and the second time they'll open by hosting the Ducks, who helped the Wings christen the 2007-08 campaign. The Wings rallied in that opener for a 3-2 shootout win.
The Red Wings and Ducks split their season-series last year, with the home team winning all four Western Conference tussles. The Wings claimed 7-4 and 3-2 victories at home over Anaheim.
The complete Red Wings' scheduled will be released Tuesday at 12 p.m. EDT on DetroitRedWings.com
Full season ticket packages as well as the Gordie Howe 9-Game Plan and the Steve Yzerman 19-Game Plan are currently available. Fans can take advantage the many benefits of becoming a Red Wings season ticket holder including a free player autographed hockey stick, bonus tickets to select regular-season home games, several extended payment plans, private presales, exclusive team events and more!
