The network of radio stations throughout the state of Michigan will remain unchanged.
“Red Wings’ fans have anxiously followed their team on radio since Foster Hewitt’s first national broadcast in 1933,” Violetta said. “We’re proud to celebrate our first 10 years of partnership with 97.1 The Ticket by extending their term as the radio flagship of the Detroit Red Wings.”
WXYT has served as the flagship station for the Red Wings since the 2000-01 season. Under the new agreement, 97.1 The Ticket and 1270 AM will continue to broadcast regular-season games, as well as preseason and postseason contests.
“We are thrilled about renewing our partnership agreement with the Wings,” Kenyon said. “97.1 The Ticket is a powerful first-class radio station and we look forward to bringing the fans and our listeners the best in local sports programming.”
