By The Numbers highlights  the Detroit Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2009-10 season. Each week, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on defenseman Brian Rafalski.

Career game was played on October 22, 2009 against the Phoenix Coyotes at Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Rafalski had two shots on goal in the Red Wings’ 3-2 overtime loss.
The team-leading plus/minus rating in the regular-season, finishing among the NHL’s best at No. 15 overall. It’s the third time in his 10-season career to post a plus/minus rating above +23.
He was fourth on the team in assists during the 2009-10 season, and amassed five multi-assist games and a season-high four-game assist streak in February.
His plus/minus rating in the playoffs against Phoenix and San Jose, tallying five assists against the Coyotes, and three goals and three assists in the Western Conference semifinals against the Sharks.           
The number of multi-point games in the regular-season, including a pair against the Los Angeles Kings. Rafalski’s multi-point games equated to a 6-2 record for the Red Wings last season.
Total points compiled in the last quarter of the season. Rafalski was hot in the Vancouver Olympics and continued that streak into the last half of the NHL season, scoring four goals with nine assists and a +8 rating in the last 20 games.
