By The Numbers highlights the Detroit Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2009-10 season. Each week, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on defenseman Brad Stuart.
Game played on January 29, 2010 against the Nashville Predators, a game that he assisted on the goal-winning goal in the Red Wings’ 4-2 at Joe Louis Arena.
Shots taken in a 3-2 shootout victory at Montreal’s Molson Centre on November 21, 2009. His previous career-high shots came as a member of the Boston Bruins when he fired seven shots in a 6-4 loss to the Florida Panthers on December 28, 2005.
Games played in during the 2009-10 season. Stuart was one of Wings’ players to play in every regular-season game (Nicklas Lidstrom and Todd Bertuzzi). It was also the third time in Stuart’s career that he played in all 82 games (1999-2000 and 2001-02).
Plus/minus rating when the Red Wings won last season, collecting four goals and 13 assists in 44 wins.
Career multi-point game on November 11, 2009 against the Vancouver Canucks in a 3-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena. In that game he collected two assists, both in the third period, which included helping on Henrik Zetterberg's game-winner.
The number of hits that he led the Red Wings with last season, good for fifth in the Central Division. It was the second straight season that Stuart has led Detroit in the category.
