MacDonald, Janik assigned to Griffins

Veteran goalie, defenseman clear waivers before heading to AHL

DETROIT -- The Red Wings today assigned goalie Joey MacDonald and defenseman Doug Janik  to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Forward Mattias Ritola was claimed off of waivers by Tampa Bay.  With the moves, Detroit’s roster currently stands at 25 players.
