Wings support \'Harvest\' incentives
DETROIT -- The Red Wings are teaming up with Forgotten Harvest in a time of need this holiday season when one in five people faces hunger daily in Metro Detroit.

For every two tickets purchased by fans to see the Red Wings host Nashville on December 8 or to watch the Wings take on St. Louis on December 15, the Red Wings will donate two tickets to Forgotten Harvest for the respective game. In turn, Forgotten Harvest will offer a pair of Red Wings tickets to either game (Dec. 8 or 15) to supporters who donate $120 or more to the Good Neighbor Campaign by December 31, 2010.

The second annual Good Neighbor Campaign has set a goal of raising enough funds to provide over 15 million meals to those in need living in the Metro Detroit area during November and December of this year.

Fans can also enter the “Fight Against Hunger” Sweepstakes for the chance to win two suite tickets to catch the Red Wings versus the Dallas Stars on Dec. 19 at Joe Louis Arena, as well as food and beverage during the game. The “Fight Against Hunger” Sweepstakes starts Dec. 6 and runs through Dec. 13, 2010. Michigan residents who are at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license can enter by taking a test drive at a participating Metro Detroit Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram Truck Superstore. In addition, Chrysler Group and its local dealers will donate $10 to Forgotten Harvest for every test drive during this period.

Tickets for all games throughout the 2010-11 season are available at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, all TicketMaster locations including The Hockeytown Café, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.  Fans also can purchase tickets by logging on to DetroitRedWings.com.

About Forgotten Harvest: Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” 19.4 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 455 sources, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to 158 emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area.
