DETROIT -- The Red Wings today announced that goaltender Joey MacDonald has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. MacDonald joins the Red Wings for his third stint with the team this season. Detroit has also loaned forward Tomas Tatar and goaltender Jordan Pearce to Grand Rapids.
MacDonald, 30, has appeared in five games for the Red Wings this season, posting a 1-2-1 record with a 2.53 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. The Pictou, NS, native has played in 77 career National Hockey League games for the Boston Bruins (7), New York Islanders (51), Toronto Maple Leafs (6) and Red Wings (13).
