Wings recall Janik from Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Red Wings on Thursday recalled defenseman Doug Janik from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Janik, 30, makes his second trip to Detroit this season after logging a seven-game stint in late-October when he went scoreless with seven penalty minutes, eight shots, a minus-two rating and an average ice time of 13:13.
A 10-year veteran and alternate captain of the Griffins, Janik shows 17 points (4-13—17), 55 PIM and ranks sixth on the team with a plus-6 rating through 46 games with Grand Rapids.
Janik will be available for action Friday night when the Red Wings host the Edmonton Oilers at 7:30 p.m. EST.
