DETROIT -- The Red Wings today announced that goaltender Joey MacDonald has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
MacDonald is available to play in tonight’s game when the Red Wings play host to the Washington Capitals (7:30 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports Detroit and 97.1 The Ticket).
MacDonald, 31, has appeared in 10 games for the Red Wings this season, posting a 3-4-1 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.
The Pictou, NS, native has played in 82 career NHL games for the Boston Bruins (7), New York Islanders (51), Toronto Maple Leafs (6) and Red Wings (18).
