On April 3 as the Red Wings hosted the Minnesota Wild on Fox Sports Detroit's "April in the D Night" the game presentation took on a very hometown vibe as every song played was tied to Michigan in some way. 

Ranging from headlining Michigan natives like Ted Nugent, Madonna, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes and the Queen of Soul herself, Miss Aretha Franklin, to (as of yet) lesser known local bands like The Product, Pop Evil and The Badways; every track at Joe Louis Arena could claim a tie to Michigan. From Marvin Gaye's recordings at Motown Records or The Red Hot Chili Pepper's track "Especially in Michigan" with Lahser High School graduate Chad Smith on the drums, Michigan music was well represented.
