By The Numbers will highlight the Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2010-11 season. Each week during the off-season, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on forward Darren Helm.

For the first time in his brief career, Darren Helm played in all 82 regular-season games. His previous career-high was 75 games in 2009-10. The only other Red Wings’ player to appear in all 82 was Nicklas Lidstrom.

Points the forward scored this season, which was a personal career-high. He recorded 24 points in the 2009-10 season.

The speedy forward was a plus-9 this season, the first time in his career that he was on the plus side of the plus-minus category. He had a season high plus-3 in a game against Columbus on Jan. 15.

Helm had one overtime goal this season, which was against Central Division rival St. Louis. He had two game-winning goals overall this season.

Total hits he had this season, which was good for fourth on the Red Wings’ roster, behind Brad Stuart (131), Johan Franzen (145) and Justin Abdelkader (188).

Twice this season, he was the recipient of the Carhartt Hardest Working Player of the Month Award, winning in January and March. The award is voted on by Wings coaches and front office personnel. is the official Web site of the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit Red Wings and are trademarks of the Detroit Red Wings.
