DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings will host the 2011 NHL Prospects Tournament at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City, MI beginning Saturday, September 10, through Wednesday, September 14. 

The eight-team tournament includes the best prospects from the Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and the New York Rangers.  Detroit’s roster includes the club’s first-round draft pick from the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (defenseman Brendan Smith), along with the Red Wings’ first selections in the 2009 and 2011 drafts (center Landon Ferraro and right wing Tomas Jurco).

The tournament consists of four games on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Admission is just $10 per day.  Tickets are available in advance at or at the arena doors beginning one hour before each day’s first game.  Daily morning practice sessions are open to the public and free of charge.
