DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that defenseman Brendan Smith has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) and forward Todd Bertuzzi has been placed on seven-day injured reserve.
Smith is required to sit out one more NHL game as part of his five-game suspension handed down during the preseason. Bertuzzi has missed the last four Red Wings contests due to a sinus infection and swelling in his ear.
Currently 9-5-1 on the season, Detroit begins a four-game road trip this week
at St. Louis (11/15, 8:00 p.m.), San Jose (11/17, 10:30 p.m.), Los Angeles (11/19, 4:00 p.m.) and Anaheim (11/20, 8:00 p.m.).
Tickets to all Red Wings home games are available at the JLA Box Office (313-396-7575), all Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) outlets, and online at DetroitRedWings.com.
