Red Wings recall Nyquist
DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Gustav Nyquist has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Nyquist, 22, has appeared in eight games for the Red Wings this season, collecting three assists (0-3-3) and two PIM. He currently leads the Griffins in scoring with 58 points (22-36-58). The Halmstad, Sweden, native earned the Grand Rapids rookie scoring record last night with two goals and one assist in a 5-3 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Currently in possession of a 44-24-4 record, the Red Wings return home to take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals tomorrow night at Joe Louis Arena (7:30 p.m. ET – FOX Sports Detroit & 97.1 The Ticket).
