Brendan Smith reassigned to AHL

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that defenseman Brendan Smith has been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL). Smith, 23, was called up to Detroit on Feb. 27 and appeared in 11 of the Wings’ 12 games during the recall, recoding five points (1-4--5) and a plus-5 rating.
Currently 45-25-5 on the 2011-12 NHL campaign, the Red Wings will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets this Monday, March 26 (7:30 p.m. – FSD & WXYT 1270 AM) at The Joe.
