DETROIT – The second edition of the Red Wings’ highly-popular Operation: Bobblehead campaign came to an end earlier this week, with ex-enforcer Darren McCarty having emerged victorious from the final round of balloting in the fan-based initiative charged with determining which Hockeytown legends will be immortalized in the form of a 6 ½ inch polyresin figurine during the 2012-13 NHL campaign. McCarty joins fellow ‘Grind Line’ members Kirk Maltby and Kris Draper as well as longtime captain Steve Yzerman, renowned goaltender Chris Osgood and enduring fan favorite Vladimir Konstantinov on the list of players set to be featured in the Red Wings’ season-long bobblehead giveaway promotion.
