AHL games to be carried on SiriusXm

DETROIT – If you’re a fan of the American Hockey League, you’ll like that NHL Network Radio plans to simulcast 20 regular-season games starting next Friday with a Western Conference doubleheader.

The NHL Network will drop the puck on the AHL season from Lake Erie where the Monsters will host the defending West Division champion Oklahoma City Barons at 7:30 p.m. EDT. That game will be followed by the Abbotsford Heat hosting the Peoria Rivermen at 10 p.m. EDT.

The network, which is heard on SiriusXM, has scheduled 20 games through Oct. 26, has plans to carry one game of the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate when the Grand Rapids Griffins travel to Toronto to take on the defending Western Conference champion Marlies on Oct. 21. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT.
