To kick off the high school season, teams, friends, family and fans can vote on which of the four nominated high school match-ups will take part in this exciting and memorable event.
The match-up that garners the most votes will be covered by the Red Wings, who will produce a segment featuring highlights, analysis and interviews of both schools.
Two of the games feature a pair of the state’s top ranked squads with Detroit Country Day (No. 4 in Division 3) taking on Utica Eisenhower, and Livonia Stevenson (No. 1 in Division 2) in a rematch against Kensington Lakes rival South Lyon.
Of the eight teams, Eisenhower advanced the furthest in last spring’s state tournament, reaching the Division 1 quarterfinals before dropping a 4-1 decision to Orchard Lake St. Mary’s.
The other two games involve an Oakland Activities Association battle between Oxford and Lake Orion, as well as a matchup of northern schools – Cadillac and Big Rapids – in a Hockeytown showdown.
Text and Tweet your vote, or here on this page (see ballot below). Fans can text their school name to 21732, or Tweet votes to @DRWVote and use the following hashtags: #cadillac; #big_rapids; #oxford; #lake_orion; #country_day; #utica_eisenhower; #livonia_stevenson; #south_lyon.
All four nominated games will be played at Joe Louis Arena. The winning game will receive coverage on DetroitRedWings.com.
