McCollum recalled from Grand Rapids

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that goaltender Thomas McCollum has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. McCollum has appeared in 17 games for Grand Rapids this season, posting a 10-6-1 record with a 2.69 goals against average, .899 save percentage and one shutout. McCollum backed up Jimmy Howard in this past Tuesday’s home-opener for Detroit before being assigned to Grand Rapids where he backed up Petr Mrazek in the Griffins 5-4 shootout win over Oklahoma City this evening (1/23).

Detroit’s next game is Friday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. when the Wings host the Minnesota Wild at Joe Louis Arena (FSPLUS and 1270 AM). Less than 1,000 tickets remain for Friday.
