Tale of the tape: Red Wings-Blues
If the St. Louis Blues are to right their ship, they'll have to start the process against their Central Division rivals, the Red Wings.
The two will square off Wednesday night (7:30 p.m. EST, NBCSN, TSN2) with the Red Wings in the midst of a three-game win streak while the Blues have dropped five straight, including a pair of losses to Detroit.
The Blues and Red Wings have met seven times in the postseason, with Detroit winning five times, including the last four times they've met. The Blues are 1-7 in their last eight trips to Joe Louis Arena, with their last victory coming March 30, 2011.
The Red Wings were hammered by the Blues, 6-0, in each team's 2012-13 season opener, but answered by winning the next two meetings by a combined 10-4 score.
Here's a snapshot of this Midwestern rivalry that dates to 1967, the Blues' first year in the league.
