Red Wings sign goaltender Jared Coreau; Recall defenseman Brian Lashoff
RED WINGS SIGN FREE AGENT GOALTENDER JARED COREAUNMU Goalie is Second College Standout to Sign With Detroit This Week
DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that free agent goaltender Jared Coreau has signed a three-year entry level contract with the team. In accordance with club policy, additional terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
Coreau, 21, started all 38 games for Northern Michigan University (CCHA) this year and finished with a 2.70 goals against average, a .919 save percentage and a 15-19-4 record. Coreau becomes the second collegiate player to sign with the Red Wings in the past week, joining defenseman Danny Dekeyser from Western Michigan University.
RED WINGS RECALL BRIAN LASHOFF FROM GRAND RAPIDS
The Detroit Red Wings today announced that defenseman Brian Lashoff has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Lashoff appeared in one contest in this assignment to Grand Rapids, going +2 in a 5-1 victory at Houston.
Lashoff, 22, was signed as a free agent by Detroit on Sept. 30, 2008, and was recently re-signed to a new three-year deal on Feb. 25, 2013. The 6-3, 208-lb. blue liner has appeared in 30 games for the Red Wings this season posting five points (1-4-5) and collecting 15 PIM. He scored in his first career NHL game on Jan. 21 at Columbus. The Albany, N.Y., native has played in 37 games for Grand Rapids in 2012-13, registering six points (2-4-6) and 23 PIM.
