Wings recall Eaves, Glendening, send Emmerton back to GR
Red Wings begin four-game homestand on Saturday against Pittsburgh
Eaves, 29, has skated in three games with the Red Wings this season, averaging 9:14 of ice time. The Calgary, Alberta, native joined Grand Rapids on Nov. 15 and has six points (4-2-6) and eight penalty minutes in eight games with the club. In 2012-13, Eaves appeared in 34 games with the Red Wings, showing eight points (2-6-8) and four penalty minutes. The nine-year NHL veteran has 141 points (72-69-141) and 145 penalty minutes in 417 games with Ottawa, Carolina and Detroit and 19 points (9-10-19) and 18 penalty minutes in 26 career AHL games.
Glendening, 24, has split his second professional season between Detroit and Grand Rapids, recording no points in nine NHL games and 10 points (3-7-10) in 17 AHL games with the Griffins. A Grand Rapids, Mich., native, Glendening helped his hometown team win the Calder Cup in 2012-13, registering 26 points (8-18-26) in 51 regular-season games and leading all AHL rookies with 16 points (6-10-16) in 24 postseason games. The University of Michigan product also recorded 70 points (31-39-70) in 165 contests with the Wolverines from 2008-12.
Emmerton, 25, has played nine games for the Red Wings this season, recording two assists. In 130 career NHL games with Detroit, he has tallied 21 points (12-9-21) and 22 penalty minutes. The St. Thomas, Ontario, native has also notched 14 points (3-11-14) in 18 games with Grand Rapids this season. He has appeared in 235 career games for the Griffins since 2006, recording 125 points (37-88-125) and 76 penalty minutes.
