Wings who have played in the Olympics

More than 70 different Red Wings have participated in the Winter Olympic Games at some point of their hockey careers. Twenty-seven have represented their nations as Red Wings, including Canadian Greg Johnson, who was the first when he participated in the 1994 Lillehammer Games during his rookie season in the NHL.

Twenty-one Red Wings have won gold medals, including Viacheslav Fetisov and Igor Larionov, the Wings' only two-time gold-medal winners with the former Soviet Union in 1984 and '88. There have been 31 other Wings who have won either silver or bronze.
