By the Numbers: Todd Bertuzzi
Take a look at some of the statistical numbers that Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi amassed in Detroit during the 2013-14 NHL season.

By The Numbers will highlight the Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2013-14 season. Each week during the off-season, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on forward Todd Bertuzzi.

59

The fewest numbers of games he played in a full season since back surgery forced him to miss all but 15 games in 2006-07 when he split the season between the Panthers and Red Wings.

5

The most shots on goal in a game that he registered in 2013-14. He produced five SOG in four different games – all on the road – helping the Red Wings to a 2-2-0 record, which included one-goal wins over Vancouver (Oct. 30) and Calgary (Nov. 1).

40

Total number of shots on goal he had in 16 of the last 17 regular-season games that he played for a 2.35 SOG per/game average. During that stretch, he produced three goals and five points with a minus-6 rating. He averaged 1.43 SOG per/game during his first 42 games of the 2013-14 campaign.

6

The most power-play goals that he scored in a single season since 2008-09 when he produced the same number of special-teams goals with the Calgary Flames. The Red Wings posted a 3-2-1 record in games when he scored on the power play.

15

The number of games that he was a healthy scratch, accounting for nearly a quarter of the regular season. He missed just eight games due to injury, including a shoulder ailment that sidelined the veteran forward for six games in late November and early December.

 12

Produced plus rating in just 20 percent of the regular-season games that he appeared in 2013-14, including season-high plus-2 rating, which he accomplished three times. The Red Wings were 2-0-1 in those games – at Calgary (Nov. 1), vs. Dallas (Nov. 7) and vs. Los Angeles (Jan. 11).
