Games missed, first with a concussion, then by a persistent left knee injury that hampered his mobility for four months. His 45 games played is the fewest number of games in 12 NHL seasons.

For the fifth time in the past six seasons led the Red Wings in faceoff wins. He also led team in total face-offs taken (835) and faceoff win percentage (53.4 percent).

Despite being injured for most of the season, one of the best two-way centers in the world managed to lead the Red Wings for the eighth consecutive campaign in takeaways. Usually ranked among the NHL’s top puck thieves he still finished No. 18 in the league last season.

The points, including four goals, which he produced in a season-high five game point streak that helped the Red Wings to a 4-1-0 stretch in October. The Wings won four straight vs. Philadelphia (Oct. 12), at Boston (Oct. 14), vs. Columbus (Oct. 15) and at Colorado (Oct. 17).

The number of multi-point games, tying him for second on the team with Johan Franzen, Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Tatar and Niklas Kronwall. Datsyuk had 17 multi-point games in the NHL lockout-shortened season in 2013.

Registered the fewest penalty minutes since his rookie season when he spent four minutes in the penalty box in 2001-02. He was whistled for hooking (Nov. 4 at WPG) and interference (Nov. 9 vs. TBL and Oct. 21 vs. SJS).
