
Combined, head athletic trainer Piet Van Zant and equipment manager Paul Boyer have more than 27 years of experience with the Red Wings’ organization. They know their stuff when it comes to keeping the Red Wings’ players fit and equipped to perform at the top of their game.

Van Zant joined the Red Wings prior to the 1999-2000 season after spending six seasons with the club’s AHL Affiliate in Glens Falls, NY. He has a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Central Michigan University.
Boyer is entering his 14th season as equipment manager, joining the team in 1994, following one season with the New Jersey Devils. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, he has a Bachelor’s degree Lake Superior State University. He was selected to work the NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles in 2002.
