Steve Violetta - Senior Vice President of Business AffairsSteve Violetta is in his third year with the Red Wings as senior vice president of Business Affairs.
Steve served as the executive vice president of business affairs for the Nashville Predators from July 2005 until his appointment to the Wings' organization on December 10, 2007. In Nashville, he successfully helped grow the team's sales and marketing efforts and improve business operations for the franchise.
In this role with the Red Wings, Steve report to owner Mike Ilitch and will work closely with the team's Executive Vice President & General Manager Ken Holland and the rest of the front office staff.
Steve is in his 22nd year in the professional sports industry and he is widely recognized as a sports pioneer in the areas of database and digital marketing. Before Nashville he was the executive vice president of business affairs for Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres (2002-2005), and was instrumental in the club’s move into PETCO Park in 2004.
Importantly, Steve has extensive NHL experience, having spent six years with the Ottawa Senators (1996-2002) and three years with the Pittsburgh Penguins (1993-1996).
A 1981 graduate of Central Michigan University, Steve has been an active board member over the years with many charities such as the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee and United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego County.
