Bio: Wings fans should be pretty familiar with Helm by now; after all, he worked his way into 18 playoff games with the Wings last spring, capped off with a Stanley Cup victory. The only problem for the Wings’ fifth round choice (132nd overall) of 2005 is team depth – Helm will have trouble cracking such a deep roster. As of November 30, he’s played in seven games with the Red Wings, but it is likely that he will be splitting time between Detroit and Grand Rapids. Needless to say, the future is bright for one of Detroit’s late-round draft gems.
