Red Wings in the Community
Recognizing our position as a community leader and role model, the Detroit Red Wings have created a pro-active community outreach program called the "Heart of Hockeytown." Through player appearances, team-sponsored events and other fund raising activities, the Red Wings help raise over one million dollars annually for various organizations in our community.
The primary objective of the "Heart of Hockeytown" is to satisfy the unique needs of our community as they relate to children and the disadvantaged in our area. Additionally, we will continue our efforts to assist charitable causes that are personal to the Red Wings' organization, including the fight against cancer, assisting Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov, as well as the development of local youth hockey organizations.
