Each year, Detroit Red Wings players make various appearances to support the local community in addition to the Wings’ annual visit to Children’s Hospital of Michigan. The players contribute their time in various ways, including visiting with disadvantaged youth, recording public service announcements, participating in educational and recreational activities, appearing at community and charitable events, etc.
To Request a Player Appearance
The Detroit Red Wings try to accommodate as many requests as possible, but please keep in mind that the number of requests we receive far outweighs those that we are able to fill. Players are not available on home game days nor can they attend an event while they are on the road with the team so please check the 2012-13 schedule before requesting a player appearance. In addition, our players refrain from making appearances following the March trade deadline through the end of the playoffs.
Please keep in mind that due to the international flavor of our team, most players do not live here during the offseason, which makes it very challenging or impossible to schedule a public appearance during the summer months.
To submit a valid request, please submit the following paperwork at least eight weeks in advance of your event:
- Request letter on organizational letterhead and an event flier
- Copy of your organization’s 501(c)(3) form and tax exempt identification number
- Completed Player Appearance Request Form
