JOE LOUIS ARENA INFORMATION

A helpful, alphabetical index of everything you need to know when attending an event or game at Joe Louis Arena. Doors open 90 minutes prior to game time.

ADA Information
The handicap-accessible entrance is located on Steve Yzerman Dr., just around the corner from the stairs that face Jefferson Ave. There is a sign that says “handicapped entrance” which is directly across the street from the Riverfront Executive Lot.
Disabled parking spots are located in the Joe Louis Arena Parking Garage and in our Riverfront Executive Lot.

Age Restrictions
For all Red Wings games, guests 3 years of age and older are required to have a ticket. Guests under the age of 3 may sit in a ticketed guest’s lap. Age restrictions vary for all other events held at Joe Louis Arena. For more information, please call 313.471.7444. 

Alcohol
Guests must be 21 years of age to purchase alcoholic beverages. Guests are not permitted to bring alcohol into the building and no alcohol is permitted to leave the facility. Alcohol cut-off times vary by event. Please contact the nearest concession stand for more information regarding alcohol cut-off times. Joe Louis Arena reserves the right to change or modify the alcohol policies at any time.

Assisted Listening Devices
Assisted listening devices are available at two locations on the concourse located outside Sections 121 and 107. The devices operate on an FM system. Guests wishing to check out a device must leave a driver’s license or credit card which will be returned upon receipt of the device in the same condition. Devices are handed out on a first-come, first-served basis and are provided free of charge.

ATMs
For your convenience, there are four ATMs that are located on the concourse inside Joe Louis Arena. ATMs are located behind Sections 104, 112, 118 and 126. An additional ATM is located on the first level near the International Bancard Olympia Club entrance.

Audio/Video Recording Devices
Audio/Video recording devices are prohibited for all Joe Louis Arena events.

Backstage Passes
Joe Louis Arena does not distribute or issue backstage passes for any event.

Binoculars
Guests are permitted to bring binoculars to Joe Louis Arena to enhance their overall experience.

Box Office Hours
The Box Office at Joe Louis Arena is located at the bottom of the stairs at the Gordie Howe (west) entrance.
Winter Hours: (From Labor Day through May) Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Box Office is closed the Memorial Day weekend (Saturday-Monday).
Summer Hours: (From June through Labor Day) Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hours are extended (including Saturday and Sunday) for Joe Louis Arena events and games. Tickets for upcoming events at Joe Louis Arena, Cobo Arena and the Fox Theatre are on sale through the second period of home games at the Box Office window located on the concourse behind Section 101. Tickets may be purchased using cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Refunds or exchanges are not available for any game for any reason.

Camera Policy
Cameras under 80mm are allowed inside Joe Louis Arena on game and event days. Cameras with lenses that extend past 80mm and any detachable lenses over 80mm will not be allowed inside Joe Louis Arena. Video cameras and flash photography are NOT allowed. Unauthorized or prohibited photography of an event may result in film or videotape being confiscated by show representatives. In all cases, the resale of photography or video is strictly prohibited. For details regarding the camera policy of a specific event, please call 313.471.7444.

Clear Bag Policy
The Detroit Red Wings and Olympia Entertainment have introduced a new clear bag policy to provide a safer environment for the public and expedite entry for guests at all Joe Louis Arena events.
Guests are permitted to carry ONLY the following style and size bag, package or container into Joe Louis Arena:
• Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar style)
• Small clutch bag with one of the clear plastic bag options above.
• An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the West Press Entrance.
The following items may not be brought into Joe Louis Arena: Purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size as listed above.

Designated Drivers Program
Sign up outside Section 101 at Red Wings games as a designated driver for the chance to win an autographed Red Wings puck. Designated drivers must be accompanied by a guest who will be consuming alcohol during the event. You may sign up through the end of the second period. 

Detroit Red Wings Kids Club Table
Visit the Red Wings Kids Club table outside Section 122 at Red Wings home games! Children may register for the exclusive Red Wings Kids Club and current Kids Club members can sign in for the game. For more information on the Red Wings Kids Club, call 313.471.7482.

Emergency Contact Information
Joe Louis Arena does not have the ability to look up a guest's seat location or to make guest pages. The best way to reach a guest during an event is by contacting him/her directly via the guest's cellular phone. In an emergency, babysitters or family members may contact the Guest Service Center at 313.471.7444 with the guest's name and seat location. A Guest Service team member will be immediately dispatched to deliver the message to the guest in his/her seat location.

Fan Courtesy
If any guests should disturb you, please contact the nearest Guest Service team member or security personnel. Persons throwing or attempting to throw objects onto the event floor will be subject to immediate ejection from the building and/or criminal prosecution. Persons observed breaking the law while on Joe Louis Arena property are subject to immediate ejection and/or criminal prosecution. Guests that are ejected from the building will not be entitled to a refund or any compensation.

First Aid
First Aid personnel are available at all events to assist any guest with medical needs. There is one first aid center located inside Joe Louis Arena on the first floor by the West Press Doors.  If First Aid is needed, find a Guest Service or security member and alert him/her of the situation for immediate assistance. 

Guest Service Center
The Joe Louis Arena Guest Service Center is located on the west side of the concourse outside Section 101 and is staffed by individuals specially trained to respond to all types of guest inquiries. Inquiries may include questions, problems, cab requests, stroller/wheelchair check-in, lost children and lost/found articles. Team schedules, parking brochures and other information are also available in the Guest Services Center.

Inclement Weather Policy
Joe Louis Arena rarely cancels or postpones events due to inclement weather. Please be advised that tickets for all events are sold on a non-refundable and non-exchangeable basis (this stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket). Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, information will be posted immediately. 

Lost and Found Children
If you become separated from your child during an event please seek the nearest Guest Service team member or security personnel. When bringing children to an event it is always helpful to make sure the children have their contact information, ticket and seat location with them at all times.

Lost and Found Items
All found items are turned into the Guest Service Center located at Section 101 on the concourse. Guests may inquire about items at any point during an event so their lost item and contact information can be logged for easier retrieval. After an event, guests may call the Joe Louis Arena Lost and Found Hotline at 313.471.7460. All found items are held for 30 days.

Mobile Ticketing

Parking
Olympia Development manages two parking locations for Joe Louis Arena: The Joe Louis Arena Garage located on W. Jefferson and the Riverfront Executive Lot located next to the People Mover on Yzerman Drive.

Point of Sale System
Every concession stand, beer stand and bar at Joe Louis Arena can now accept all major credit cards with the new Point of Sale System. The POS System will expedite the wait time on the Joe Louis Arena Concourse, allowing fans to get back to their seat as soon as possible.

Prohibited Items
The following items may not be brought into Joe Louis Arena: Wrapped gifts or items, cans, bottles, coolers, plastic beverage containers, food and beverages, helium balloons, oversized bags or backpacks, pets (other than service animals), laser pointers/pens, compressed-air noisemakers, sticks (including those on pennants or flags) and weapons (guns, knives, chains, spikes, projectiles, etc.) of any sort. All purses and bags are subject to inspection upon entering the arena.

Pucks Entering the Stands
Please be aware that a puck can be propelled into the spectator area with enough force to cause serious injury. Stay alert at all times in the seating area. If you are injured, please ask the nearest usher for help and directions to the medical station. Red Wings patrons assume all risk and danger incidental to the game of hockey--including specifically, buy not exclusively, the danger of being injured by a puck or hockey stick, and agree that Joe Louis Arena, the league and its affiliates and employees, the participating clubs, their agents and players are not liable for injuries from such causes.

Searches
For the safety and security of everyone in the building, all guests, performers and team members are subject to search before being granted entrance into Joe Louis Arena.  Searches include visual inspection, bag checks, pat-downs and metal detecting.

Smoking Policy
Joe Louis Arena is a smoke-free facility, but guests wishing to smoke may exit and re-enter the building at the East entrance (outside Section 115). Your hand and ticket will be stamped prior to exiting; you will not be permitted to re-enter without your ticket. Joe Louis Arena reserves the right to prohibit exiting and re-entering at certain events. Please see the nearest Guest Service team member for the smoking location nearest to your seating area.

Soliciting
No loitering, trespassing, soliciting/peddling, resale of tickets, merchandise or other items is permitted on Joe Louis Arena property without Joe Louis Arena approval.

Special Video Board Announcements
Guests wishing to have birthday or special messages shown on the video board are required to make a $50 donation to the Red Wings Wish Club benefiting the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation. For more information or to make a donation, call 313.745.5024.

Standing Room
Standing room areas are for those fans holding "Standing Room Only" tickets. Fans holding tickets for reserved seat locations will not be permitted in the standing areas.

Tickets
Tickets for Joe Louis Arena events may be purchased through the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, Ticketmaster phone sales, www.ticketmaster.com and at any Ticketmaster location. These sources are the only authorized ticket-selling agents of Joe Louis Arena. Please be advised that we cannot guarantee the authenticity of tickets obtained though any other source. Tours
