The Grand Rapids Griffins (21-11-4) pulled to within a single point of Toronto (22-11-3) for second place in the American Hockey League’s Western Conference this past Saturday, picking up one point in a 3-2 overtime loss to Peoria (view video highlights). Grand Rapids will face the Checkers in Charlotte on Wednesday and Thursday of this week prior to traveling to Rockford for a Saturday night showdown with the IceHogs.

Meanwhile, in northwestern Ohio, the Walleye (19-16-4) have lost five straight games and now rank third in the North Division. Toledo will look to get back on track this weekend when they battle Fort Wayne (Friday) and Evansville (Saturday) on the road.

The Walleye’s next home game is scheduled to be played on Friday, January 25 versus the Kalamazoo Wings (CLICK HERE for tickets).
