Bruce Haralson enters his fifth campaign as a pro scout for the Red Wings after spending the previous 13 seasons as an amateur scout with the organization.
His primary responsibilities include scouting NHL clubs based in the western United States and Canada, along with their American Hockey League affiliates. Haralson is responsible for evaluating talent at the NHL and AHL levels in order to provide input to Red Wings’ management regarding potential trades and free agent acquisitions. In his previous role, he scouted amateur players in the western junior and college ranks in advance of the annual NHL entry draft.
Haralson and his wife, Lise, live in Lynden, Washington, and spend their summers in Kelowna, British Columbia. They have two sons, Jay and Chad.
