Acquired: Signed as a free agent by Detroit on December 5, 1932.
Bob Davis spent nine seasons playing minor pro hockey before he got his NHL chance in the 1932-33 season. Davis, known as "Friday" to his teammates split those nine years between the Fort William Forts and the Duluth Hornets then signed a contract with the Detroit Red Wings on December 5th 1932.

Davis, who was born in Lachine, Quebec on February 2, 1899, played just three games with the Red Wings that year and the right-winger was unable to register a point.

The following year Davis left the professional game to play Senior hockey close to home with the Montreal Lafontaine for the final two years of his career.

After hanging up his skates Davis returned to the game as a coach in 1935 when he stepped behind the bench in Fort William, where he spent the early part of his career. After one season as a coach, Davis left the game of hockey.
