Acquired: Traded to Detroit by Montreal Maroons for cash on October 28, 1934.
Lorne Duguid played seven seasons in the NHL with the Montreal Maroons, Detroit Red Wings, and Boston Bruins between 1931 and 1937.

After two years as a prolific goal scorer for the Windsor Bulldogs of the IHL, Duguid was inserted into the Maroons' lineup for 13 games in 1931-32. He failed to make the scoresheet that year, but he did score four times with seven assists for eleven points in 48 games with Montreal the next winter.

Duguid played five games for the Maroons in the 1933-34 season before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings. He suited up for 34 games with the red and white and scored three goals and three assists. He lasted five games into the next season, but with a slow start without any points he was sent to the Boston Bruins.

During the 1935-36 season, he had a goal and four assists in 29 games. His last NHL game the following year when he dressed for just one contest, scoring a goal for the Bruins.

In 1938-39, he was a member of the Calder Cup champion Cleveland Hornets of the American Hockey League.
