Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1963, Chris Cichocki would make his NHL debut with his hometown Red Wings in 1985. Cichocki, a right winger, spent three years with the Michigan Tech Huskies before inking a free agent deal with the Red Wings on June 28, 1985

Cichocki played 59 games with the Red Wings during his rookie year scoring 10 goals and 21 points. However, his second season saw him play just two games in Detroit with the rest of his season spent in the American Hockey League.

That spring the Red Wings, in need of a solid veteran presence to stabilize the club during a disappointing season, sent Cichocki and a draft pick to New Jersey for Mel Bridgman.

Cichocki played just seven games with the Devils over the next two seasons. The two games he played with New Jersey during the 1988-89 season would be his last in the NHL, though a long minor league career lay ahead.

Cichocki spent the bulk of four seasons with Binghamton of the AHL before jumping to the International Hockey League in 1993. In the IHL, Cichocki signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones and spent the next five seasons patrolling their wing, retiring in 1997-98 with just six games played that year.

Cichocki would return to hockey, accepting the post of head coach with the East Coast Hockey League's Arkansas Riverblades in 2000.
