Born in Mora, Sweden, Djoos played with his home town club before moving over to the Brynas IF squad in 1986-87. He played for Sweden at the European Junior Championships in 1986 and was named to the tournament all-star team. The talented youngster was drafted 127th overall by the Wings in 1986 then represented his country at the 1988 World Junior Championships.
After playing for Sweden at the 1990 World Championships, Djoos played 26 games as an NHL rookie with Detroit. He also saw significant time in the minors then joined the New York Rangers in a late season trade. After playing 50 games for the Blueshirts in 1991-92, Djoos spent most of the next season in the AHL. He enjoyed a strong year with 69 points for the Binghamton Rangers and a place on the AHL second all-star team. I
In 1993-94, Djoos headed back to Europe and averaged nearly a point per game for HC Lugano of Switzerland. He returned to Sweden the next season and played for Vastra Frolunda and Brynas.
