Chris Evans
Chris Evans
Number: 11
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 180
Born: Sep 14, 1946
Birthplace: Toronto, ON, Canada
Acquired: Traded to Detroit by St. Louis with Bryan Watson and Jean Hamel for Ted Harris, Bill Collins and Garnet Bailey on February 14, 1974.
Chris Evans came into the NHL with little fanfare. He was not drafted, but rather signed his first NHL deal, with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as a free agent, appearing in two games with them in 1969-70.

After a couple of years in the minors, Evans got his first real look at the NHL in the 1971-72 season, when he played in 61 games with the Buffalo Sabres. His six-goal, 24-point effort drew the attention of the St. Louis Blues, who traded for him late in the season. In his only full season with the Blues, he had nine goals and 21 points in 77 games. He started 54 games with the Blues the next season before being dealt to the Detroit Red Wings.

After a two-game stint with the Kansas City Scouts in 1974-75, Evans returned for 20 games with the St. Louis Blues, his last year in the NHL.

For the next four years Evans played in the WHA, two years with the Calgary Cowboys, half a season in Birmingham and Quebec before finishing off with the Phoenix Roadrunners in 1978-79.

Evans played two more years, including one in the German Elite League before retiring from pro hockey after the 1981 season.
