Weight: 185
Shoots: Right
Born: Sep 21, 1934

Right winger Chuck Holmes played parts of two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings in the 50s and 60s. Although his NHL tenure was brief, he enjoyed prolonged success in the minors, particularly the Western League.

Born in Edmonton, Holmes was on the Wings' prospect list and played junior hockey with the local Oil Kings. He remained in his hometown after turning pro and was a top scorer on the WHL's Edmonton Flyers for several years. He recorded two 20-goal seasons, was recalled briefly to Detroit in 1958-59 and 1961-62, and helped Edmonton win the WHL championship in 1962.

After bouncing around various minor leagues, Holmes settled down with the WHL's Seattle Totems for his last five seasons. His excellent two-way work helped the club win the league championship in 1967. Holmes retired in 1971 after 16 years as professional.
