Hec Lalande
Hec Lalande
Center
Number: 7
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 150
Shoots: Left
Born: Nov 24, 1934
Birthplace: North Bay, ON, Canada
Acquired: Traded to Detroit by Chicago with Nick Mickoski, Bob Bailey and Jack McIntyre for Bill Dineen, Billy Dea, Lorne Ferguson and Earl Reibel on December 17, 1957.
Center Hec Lalande played parts of four years with the Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Red Wings in the 50s. He was a clever playmaker who went on to play many years in the minors.

Born in North Bay, Ontario, Lalande was a solid junior with the OHA's Galt Black Hawks. He enjoyed two decent years with the Hawks in the mid-50s and notched a personal best 11 goals in 1956-57 while playing on a robust line with Forbes Kennedy and Harry Watson.

In December 1957, Lalande was part of a multi-player deal with the Red Wings that also involved Nick Mickoski and Billy Dea. He only played 12 games for his new club before he was relegated to the minors. Lalande remained a minor leaguer until he retired in 1968. He enjoyed his finest stretch with the EHL's Clinton Comets and registered consecutive 100-point seasons in 1964 and 1965.
