Stan McCabe
Left Wing
Number: 12
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 165
Shoots: Left
Born: Jun 16, 1908
Birthplace: Ottawa, ON, Canada
Acquired: Signed as a free agent by Detroit on November 1, 1927.
Stan McCabe signed a free agent contract with the NHL's Detroit Cougars, the predecessor of the Red Wings, on November 1, 1927. He played two years in the Can-Pro league with the Detroit Olympics before suiting up for the Cougars for 25 games in 1929-30. He remained in the NHL the following year playing in 44 games with the Detroit Falcons.

Detroit had hoped for better offensive production from McCabe and they put him on waivers in November 1932 where he was claimed by the Montreal Maroons. He played just nine games with the Maroons over two years, being used as an injury replacement player. Once again he found himself unable to crack the lineup on a consistent basis and was relegated to the minors, mostly playing in the Can-Am league with Quebec.

In 78 NHL games, McCabe scored nine goals and 13 points.
