Acquired: Signed as a free agent by Detroit on October 20, 1928.
A versatile figure who could play left wing and defense, Bert McInenly lasted nearly 200 NHL games during the 1930s. He was also a success in the minors and the senior leagues.

The Quebec City native played junior with the Ottawa Rideaus before joining the city's senior Shamrocks in 1925-26. He toiled for the senior Ottawa Gunners and the Berlin Mountaineers of the North East League before stepping up to the CanPro League with the Detroit Olympics. Here he caught the eye of the NHL's Falcons and made his NHL debut in 1930-31.

During the 1931-32 season, McInenly was sent to the New York Americans where he scored 12 goals in 30 games. The next year, he returned to Ottawa with the struggling Senators before he was sold to the Boston Bruins. He played 33 games in Beantown in 1934-35 and suited up for the team when it lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the semifinals. McInenly spent most of his last six pro seasons in the Can-Am league and the AHL before retiring in 1941.
