Rod Morrison played his junior hockey with the Saskatoon Quakers and helped the club to advance to the 1943 Memorial Cup where he had nine goals in eight games. In 1943-44 he signed with the Indianapolis Capitols of the AHL. He then spent a year in Saskatoon and Omaha before returning to Indianapolis in 1946-57.
Morrison played his entire 34-game NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1947-48 where he scored eight goals and 15 points. He played the final three years of his pro career with Indianapolis, retiring after the 1950-51 campaign.
