Right winger Barry Sullivan played one game for the Detroit Red Wings in 1947-48. Most of his career took place in the minors where he was a consistent goal scorer.

He spent most of his first two pro seasons with the Omaha Knights of the USHL and helped the club reach the league championship series in 1947. He then moved up to the AHL's Indianapolis Capitals where he scored 22 goals in 1947-48 and earned a one game taste of the NHL.

Following that season he topped the 20-goal mark three more times in the AHL before retiring in 1953. Along the way he helped the Providence Reds reach the Calder Cup final in 1952 and was selected to the AHL second all-star team following that season.
